Art in the Garden

The Art in the Garden project was created to incorporate art projects and mural arts as a teaching tool to help participants learn and understand the ecological and agricultural environment that surround them.

Art in the Garden is offered in the The Learning Garden at Tom Graham Park, located at 3808 Upper River Rd., sitting centrally in the Oak Park neighborhood. Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation designated Tom Graham Park as a learning garden to be managed by GROW Local South Texas.

GROW Local South Texas is a member-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit formed in March of 2013 with a mission to cultivate a healthy community by growing the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable foods. Local individual and business members are a critical and vital part of our mission to GROW Local STX.

We are taking artist led activities outdoors to The Learning Garden presenting exploration of the community’s local environment, engaging participants in playful, hands-on art activities producing artistic contributions to the garden, offering a platform to unify the community through the arts while complementing the mission of GROW.

Art in the Garden is designed as a catalyst to bring unity to the Oak Pak community, offering a creative way to engage neighbors in a positive and uplifting way.

Many thanks to all who have supported this project and believe in making a difference in the lives of our community. Without your support this project would not be the success that it is.
