K SPACE SUMMER ART CAMPS

We Are Planning Our 2017 Summer Art Camp!!!!!
But check out what we did last summer.

K Space Contemporary is pleased to announce Summer Art Camp 2016 for students ages 11-16. K Space Contemporary Summer Art Camps offer fun-filled creative learning experiences for students ages 11-16. Immersed in ART for the entire week, students will improve their artistic skills while learning problem solving skills that can be applied to all areas of study. This is seriously fun creativity! Camps begin at 9am and end at 3:30pm. Healthy snacks will be provided; however, students will need to bring a sack lunch. We will be using art materials that can stain clothing, so dress accordingly. We will have aprons for campers. All art supplies are provided. Tuition for all camps are $150($140 for K Space members).
 
Session I: July 11-15
Drawing & Sculpture
Instructors: Loring Baker & Mayra Zamora
Consisting of an introduction to drawing by utilizing sketch books and mixed media and then progressing to large scale drawings by the end of the week. Students will learn techniques, history and reference multiple artist’s disciplines. In the afternoon, campers will learn the art of sculpture using mixed media to create a variety of sculptures all the while incorporating their drawing.

Session II: July 18-22
Cultural Dance & Mural Arts
Instructors: Teresa Saldivar & Sandra Gonzales
Campers will learn a variety of cultural dance styles and the cultural reference behind each. This camp will focus on basic dance choreography and will encourage group collaboration. Each day will build off the previous day. In the afternoon campers will dive into the mural arts. Campers will be presented with examples of murals located across the United States then will begin to collaborate and design a composition for a mural that will be completed by the of the week.

Session III: July 25-29
Print Making & Painting  
Instructors: Monica Garcia & Mayra Zamora
In the morning campers will focus on basic printmaking techniques using multi media. Campers will be presented historical references and will be encouraged to collaborate not only on personal projects, but also on a large group project. In the afternoon campers will be introduced to basic painting techniques with a variety of painting media. Each camper will complete a painting by the end of the week to exhibit during the closing reception.
