Tracey Meyer presently resides in Houston. Meyer is a keen student; of nature, of wildlife, and of human activity, and whenever she looks closely at things, she sees recurring elements: shapes, colors, and repetition. As a student of History, Meyer is deeply concerned with how humans treat each other and their planet; so each series she undertakes will usually include an element of social comment.
In 2008, Meyer decided to pursue Glassell’s Certificate of Achievement in Studio Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She graduated in Painting and Sculpture in 2012.
In 2014, Meyer had her own solo show in Houston: Shape and Shadow. She has taken part in numerous juried shows in Houston and Corpus Christi. She has won a number of prizes and scholarships for her work. Meyer’s art has made its way into the collections of Anne Duncan, Louis Skidmore, and Wade Wilson. Her work is part of the “Loteria” public art mural in Corpus Christi, Texas. She took part in an ‘Art Uniti’ public art project in Sugar Land, TX.
Meyer is due to have another solo show at Archway Gallery in November 2020.
