Objects as Mirrors by K Space Art Lab for Teens Program
March 7th - April 4th, 2025
K Space Contemporary is proud to present an exhibition featuring the work of our K Space Art Lab for Teens participants. Under the instruction of Jacqueline Negreros, a printmaking professor at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, the teen artists explored monotype printmaking techniques over the course of three workshops in February. Through this hands-on experience, they experimented with spray paint, textures, stencils, and personal symbolism to create unique prints that reflect their individuality.
The exhibition showcases the results of an introspective and creative journey where each student selected an object or element from the natural world to serve as a metaphor for their identity. Their artworks embody the essence of self-expression through printmaking. This collection highlights the power of visual storytelling, demonstrating how art can be a profound tool for personal reflection and creative exploration.
K Space Art Lab for Teens is a year-round weekend program for young artists ages 13-17 who are interested in developing their professional artistic skills and exploring potential careers in the arts. Combining studio practice with lessons in art business administration, students learn directly from professional local and visiting artists. K Space Contemporary is committed to providing free access to quality arts education, fostering excellence, and encouraging the next generation of creative leaders.
