Open for Opportunity by Nichole Schiller
January 7 - February 25, 2022
Opportunity:
Op·por·tu·ni·ty
Noun
A set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something.
What does it mean for something to be an opportunity?
Is it a job promotion?
Getting an education?
A friendship?
Being alive?
Nichole Schiller’s Open for Opportunity displays what opportunity can be and how it can differ from person to person. Her installation invites viewers to become co-creators in this art exhibition by providing input on the opportunities they have been given as well as opportunities they have given others. Doors, like opportunities, require action to be fully utilized. They need to be built, opened, unlocked, or sometimes closed. It is because of this that the door is heavily utilized to represent opportunity.
